IDX
For real estate agents and brokers in the US, IDX is the system that allows REALTORS® to show MLS property listings on their websites. IDX stands for “Internet Data Exchange”, which sounds technical, but really it’s quite simple from the agent’s perspective.
For example, if you are a real estate agent, you might have an MLS property search on your website. This feature is made possible by an IDX”data feed” from your MLS. NAR has set national standards for IDX display (IDX), which must be followed in order to maintain a feed to your Brokerage or agent website.
Virtual Office Websites
VOW or virtual office (VOW) website is a real estate data product offered by MRMLS that provides more sales history and off-market data than an IDX. VOW is designed to help agents looking to drop the brick-and-mortar business model and go completely online.
A VOW site operates similarly to many other real estate websites. The main feature is a property display that allows users to search, filter, and save listings. The unique aspect about VOW is that this property display includes off market listings. Because of the potentially sensitive nature of this off-market data, VOW listings are not open to the general public and instead require that a client-agent relationship be established before a user gains access to the VOW.
3rd Party Agreements
The Montana Regional MLS allows for outside providers, such as syndication sites or vendors providing services to agents, to gain access to listing information. Providers must demonstrate that their product is in the best interest of our clients and the consumers and must be related to the real estate industry. Agreements are brokerage opt-in and standard IDX display rules must be followed.
